Jimmy Hayes was at a crossroads a few weeks ago as he was going through a big slump. The low point had to have been his demotion to the fourth line about a week ago. Last night, in some ways was a must-win for the Bruins. They responded with a 7-3 beat down of the Ottawa Senators in which Hayes scored his first career hat-trick including his last goal coming with 0.2 seconds left. The fourth line all together had an outstanding game. If Hayes can build off his performance, it would give the Bruins much-needed scoring depth and already he is a big body that can throw his weight around at times. Hayes had gotten off to a great start this season but has leveled off since then. Hopefully, the game last night was a wake up call for the former BC Eagle and he picks up where he left off at the beginning of the year.
